Embracing Your Uniqueness: A worshipper's journey to self-acceptance

Updated: Aug 5

In a time that often pushes conformity, embracing your uniqueness can be a revolutionary act of self-love and surrender to the Lord that brings empowerment. Each of us is a masterpiece, uniquely crafted with our own quirks, talents, and imperfections. It is in accepting and celebrating these differences that we truly unlock our full potential and live a life that is authentic to who we are meant to be.

Embracing Your Uniqueness - Set Apart and Appointed

Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

There was a season I doubted the uniqueness of my creation. This was particularly difficult after I would finish ministering and the response was less than what I was expecting. I would sit hours on end in depression asking the Lord why I wasn't drawn to fit in the mould of certain music genres. I often felt isolated in ministry even tho I am social butterfly. I felt like I was never enough. Can you relate? I began to shut myself down and bury who I was naturally. Then I would force myself into conforming to what 'worked' or what would get the people up and active (and it did work) but I never heard one testimony from it that gave God glory, the compliments went else where and that bothered me alot. I would often receive prophetic words or scriptures would jump out at me affirming who I was in the Lord but it just wasn't connecting for me because I wanted to be someone else. I never understood at the time that I was insulting my creator as if to say He wasn't sure about me. Everyone was born for a purpose and being on earth is not a random selection. God is very intentional about us. Embracing your uniqueness is about recognizing that you are one-of-a-kind, and that is your superpower. Just like a rare gem, your individuality shines brightest when you allow yourself to be who you truly are. Whether you are an introvert with a passion for art or an extrovert who loves to dance in the rain, your uniqueness is what makes you special and irreplaceable.

The Journey to Self-Acceptance

The journey to self-acceptance is not always easy. Society often imposes unrealistic standards and expectations that can make us feel like we need to fit into a certain mold to be accepted. However, true freedom comes from embracing our quirks, flaws, and differences, rather than trying to hide or change them. My journey in starting to accept the gift was rough and I was told by a friend lovingly but bluntly 'be yourself, everyone else is taken'. It was not an overnight process but the more I aligned with the pocket of my design was the more I started to hear more glory going to my chief creator and that was what I wanted because I am because of Him. There were days that execution failed and the temptation was there to pull into a shell but I was constantly reminded by my team and at times reminded myself that I am a work in progress but I am also created for a purpose and on purpose it will get better just stay in the process. After awhile I saw healings, deliverances, heard testimonies when I surrendered to my blueprint. I was ok with the making process and the highs and lows that came with it. That built the confidence and authenticity I needed.

It's Time to Move Forward

Ecclesiastes 3:11 'He has made everything beautiful in its time...'

Fam, It's your time. When you fully accept and embrace the grace on your life , you become a force to be reckoned with, you become a terror to hell yet blossom beautifully in your destiny. Your confidence shines through, and you inspire others to embrace their own uniqueness. God already carved out the way you should take, the audience assigned to you and is a powerful magnet to destiny. Embracing your uniqueness is a journey that requires courage, self-love, and a willingness to stand out from the crowd. Remember that you are a rare and 'a valuable piece of material' - Granville Kerr, and those in darkness needs your light to shine bright so they can find their way. Embrace your journey, celebrate your talents, love yourself unapologetically and answer the call to be you. By doing so, you not only honor your creator but also inspire others to do the same.

Embracing your uniqueness is not just about self-acceptance; it is also about celebrating the diversity and differences in each minister you meet. When we acknowledge and appreciate the uniqueness of those around us, we defeat envy and jealousy and works of the flesh not pleasing to the Lord.
